EMV/SECCOS chip cards corrected by DPS software
The number of rejections of debit and credit card transactions at cash machines observed since New Year’s Day 2010 has been analysed by DPS Engineering GmbH on the instructions of an ATM operator.
In keeping with the technical framework conditions of the ZKA [Central Credit Committee] and working closely with major users, a ‘repair solution’ for chip cards was developed in a very short time.
This correction was implemented using a hardware-independent solution and is being employed at German banks on tens of thousands of appliances belonging to KEBA, NCR, Talaris and Wincor Nixdorf.
This widely respected service has enabled DPS Engineering GmbH to present itself once again as a technology leader in the field of self-service systems. The number of cards needing to be ‘repaired’ was somewhere in the range of tens of millions. At the time of publication, several hundred thousand cards have already been successfully ‘repaired’.
